Titel der Promotionsarbeit:

The Archaeology of ritual practices in archaic Rome and Latium Vetus. Defining sacred-political spaces during urbanisation processes.

 

Abstract:

As part of the archaeology of the sacred and with particular attention to archaic Rome and Latium Vetus, the dissertation project analyses the ritual practices related to the establishment of sacred and political power during the urbanisation processes (second half of the 8th century BC – end of the 6th century BC). The analysis will be carried out on the basis of archaeological and historical-religious data, with the aim of creating a plausible reconstruction of ritual behaviours in a socio-cultural context. The project aims at investigates territorial occupation strategies adopted during the making of a city and, furthermore, the religious ideologies connected to them.
